- Moblin 2.0 Beta This is the first beta of the one-time Intel-developed Mobin (they turned it over to the Linux Foundation) and it has been creating quite a stir. This release contains a completely redesigned user experience that was developed using the Clutter animation framework. They also have builtin tools for aggregating your social network content, a web browser optimized for the UI, a network connection management interface, a zoomable media player, and support for standard desktop applications as well. I’ve run this a few times and I’m definitely impressed with what they’ve done, especially compared to the other Linux-based netbook distros. If you’re interested in reading more about it keep an eye out for an upcoming article about my first impressions of the beta in the next day or two.
